Ted Kaczynski, the convict known as the Unabomber, was found dead in his prison cell Saturday morning, according to multiple reports. He was 81.

Kaczynski was found dead around 8 a.m. at a federal prison in North Carolina, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson said. A cause of death was not immediately known.

He had been moved to the federal prison medical facility in North Carolina in December 2021 after spending two decades in a federal Supermax prison in Colorado for a series of bombings that targeted scientists.

Let's take a minute to remember that time he trolled his class at the Harvard Reunion back in the early 2010s:

He is jailed for life in the maximum security prison in Florence, Colorado, and thus unable to join hundreds of former Harvard and Radcliffe classmates for four days of events in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that wrap up on Thursday.

In the alumni guide, Kaczynski, 70, listed his occupation as “prisoner.” Under awards, he notes “Eight life sentences, issued by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, 1998.”

There's something eerily dark about the story of ted. Just the concept of being locked up for the rest of your life and having to contemplate that you're no longer going to have an impact on the issues that you care about in the world. Sure ted was a criminal, but I can only imagine what was going through his mind in his final days. It's what's going through the mind of anyone who is going to be locked up for the rest of their lives. Fucking depressing.

rip in irony
Imagine this big brained lunatics possible kill count if he actually used the technology he hated.
Dude could have probably built his own nuke.
Given the resources I bet you and I could knock together a shite tier nuke in the span of a fortnight based on Wikipedia alone, but weapons grade enriched uranium doesn't grow on trees.

F for Uncle ted one of the best writers of the 20th century. Also a mis understood genius who was frightenly accurate about technology and industrial societies potential for horror and dystopia.
He may be right in a way, but at the same time, luddites are never right. People who think "this is so evil that we should NEVER use it, destroy it all!" are only ensuring people use it more out of spite. But honestly too, using it is the only way to know how to manage it. None of us are afraid of fire anymore, are we? No one is going UGH UGH FIRE BAD! because we know how to tame it and use it for our benefit. Imagine if Ugnar, who feared fire would destroy us, got his way? We'd still be picking berries and having a hard time killing that deer with our bare hands.

Anarcho-primitivism is bullshit.

The only cure for technology's ills is to learn how to master it. Or at least be OK with living until 30 only to be mauled by a tiger or because you got a cut on your head that went gangrenous (or both; lousy sun god).

Terry never wrote a manuscript as good as the Unabombers manifesto. Uncle Ted could have been a tenured professor at an ivy league university he was that smart. Also ted didnt live in a van , Terry was good at living out of vans.

Above is the Unabomber's book.
This guy's book is insanely Western-centric and therefore falls into the same fallacy of most Western thought when trying to discuss human society as a whole: "the West = the world".

He's no more smart than some Chang talking about the ills of modern world society due to the rejection of Confucius thought and the lack of teaching of the Four Chinese Classics.

"the West = the world"
It isn't? When @Likeicare visited Japan, he noticed that architecture is basically Chinese. Your corner of the world used to be sinocentric. Take a look at your cities now, your clothing, music, form of government. Seems to me that the west exerted more influence than China ever did, not to mention on China itself.
