Frutiger Aero is still alive in Linux, that alone is a reason enough for using it. Don't start on the games, everything without a spyware anticheat will work with Proton.
GIMP is better. Period.i find krita is an acceptable alternative to photoshop and krita works just fine on linux. anyone first coming from that adobe prisonware will have a hump of a learning curve but after that, no problem.
wait, wut? I thought you didn't like linux and OSX was yer holy grail and shitGIMP is better. Period.
Wtf are you talking about? Installing mint on my box took 10 minutes and I had zero issues. If a user friendly distro like Mint or Debian came preinstalled on a laptop most folks wouldn't have a problem there either. Gaming is fine on Linux now. I haven't had any issues getting games to run. The push from Valve proves that gaming on linux can be and is viable. And the time sink required to get various Linux distros to work properly is outrageous. Plus, the Linux ‘community‘ is filled with a-holes who aren’t helpful. And gaming is abysmal on Linux.
Who wants to spend never ending hours tinkering with an OS just so it will properly talk to common hardware/peripherals? Aspie losers, that’s who.
That is ALWAYS the claim by linux fanbois. The reality is ALWAYS different.Wtf are you talking about? Installing mint on my box took 10 minutes and I had zero issues. what would you know about reality? you're the least real person on this forum. That is ALWAYS the claim by linux fanbois. The reality is ALWAYS different.
You KNOW that isn’t true, Jurk!what would you know about reality? you're the least real person on this forum.
Sadly, your comments about the beloved Apple products shows an egregious amount of ignorance. Get that fixed.Apple is just as bad if not worse and guilty of all this as well. You can do more with and get more out of pcs. There is a reason why pc is the market majority and not those glorified paper weights. Quality androids and pcs are also more expensive than apple products and work better. Apple is for people who want to look rich and don't understand technology which is why it's made over simplified for boomers so not even they can fuck it up on their porn sites. But only because there is no value in making viruses for products no one buys. Linux is for people who want to pretend like they know a lot about computers but have usless knowledge that only applies to the product they use that no one else buys.
well i don't see too many devices with ssd nands that just short to ground.Sadly, your comments about the beloved Apple products shows an egregious amount of ignorance. Get that fixed.
Now you’re just being disingenuous. You and anyone else who has a modicum of sentience understands that Apple products are always best of breed.well i don't see too many devices with ssd nands that just short to ground.
so i guess you pay extra for exotic failures nobody else has.
you're right. apple is the best,Now you’re just being disingenuous. You and anyone else who has a modicum of sentience understands that Apple products are always best of breed.
you have yet to prove otherwise. are you still too poor to fix your iphone's camera? You KNOW that isn’t true, Jurk!
Iphone and Mac is for poor boomers trying to look rich but can't afford a gaming pc or quality phone and don't know how to make one themselves.Sadly, your comments about the beloved Apple products shows an egregious amount of ignorance. Get that fixed.
stop lying and gaslighting yourself you can't keep up this forever I'm tired of your bullshit claims about Linux as an arch Linux user even collabvm knew that Linux was not bullshit one of their admins LITERALLY use arch Linux like meThat is ALWAYS the claim by linux fanbois. Teal Deer, yes you can with Boot Camp Assistant. Make sure the mac of your choice is intel based. Can you EVEN install Windows on a non-Apple device?
Arch Linux has a well deserved reputation for being one of the very WORST linux distrosstop lying and gaslighting yourself you can't keep up this forever I'm tired of your bullshit claims about Linux as an arch Linux user even collabvm knew that Linux was not bullshit one of their admins LITERALLY use arch Linux like me
do it! Switch to Linux Become a Proud Linux User TodayBeen thinking about switching to a Linux distribution, but I haven't gotten around to it.
Prove that it has the reputation as the worst Linux distro I know your WrongArch Linux has a well deserved reputation for being one of the very WORST linux distros
I would highly recommend using a beginner friendly OS that won't require a lot of setup. Linux Mint is my #1 recommendation. It has enough basic features available through GUI menus that you probably won't need to use a terminal much early on.Been thinking about switching to a Linux distribution, but I haven't gotten around to it.
I used to use these distros a lot but honestly it really hurts when you realize they are entirely a meme.Avoid Arch and Gentoo for your first install.
I was leaning on Mint, but is there any reason to get a different distribution later on?I would highly recommend using a beginner friendly OS that won't require a lot of setup. Avoid Arch and Gentoo for your first install. Those are great but require a bit more knowledge upfront to set it up correctly.
good suggestion, i didn't know that Linux would have OS that is "beginner friendly" like how you put it, but does it mean it's user friendly (not needing to use my brain to play video games on it) or would I still require some form of instruction manual to set up Linux Mint?I would highly recommend using a beginner friendly OS that won't require a lot of setup. for a typical person, the only reason you'd look at changing distros would be over some specific feature that your current one doesnt offer.I was leaning on Mint, but is there any reason to get a different distribution later on?
and that’s the common issue with all flavours of Linux. Even for the supposedly ‘user friendly’ versions like Mint, you’ll have to tinker and tinker and then tinker some more to get it to function properly.Been thinking about switching to a Linux distribution, but I haven't gotten around to it.
The jealousy and OS envy is strong with this one.@Quence I genuinely own and use a macbook sometimes and I want to say you are a gigantic faggot if you actually think they are "stable" good devices. Hard disagree. You need to patch them manually in some weird way if you want to get a good experience. Every new version of macOS is designed by pajeets with horrible optimization. It's not even that close to a BSD anymore considering its raped beyond repair anyway. Not to mention how absolutely inefficient the Window manager is... Windows did it better, so did every Linux window manager on the planet. macOS is designed to look good and nothing else.
It's only until the M2 that they got their shit together, but god damn, I absolutely would just recommend ANYONE get a f**king Thinkpad instead of a macbook. Worst laptop I've used.
